.IT Domain Names

Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific top-level domain extension is very popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming imaginative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to give it with coworkers and acquaintances. The extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information technology sector because IT is an abbreviation, which is in use worldwide.

Since .IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that manages this TLD, such a domain can be registered through a 3rd-party domain provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can obtain a .IT domain for no more than a year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it the moment the transfer has been finished. The sole prerequisite is that the person registering such a domain must be located in a member state of the EU.

As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of various areas and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical areas of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such 3rd-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
